GUESTS - GENERAL ATTENDANCE

Previously obligated engineers were always welcome to attend Camp XIII ceremonies as guests. Now, changes and updates to the ceremony allow for all obligated engineers to bring guests! Space permitting, Camp XIII invites candidates to bring up to two guests to attend the ceremony in person (each candidate may register for a maximum of two guests, which would include a guest ring presenter if desired.)

Guest ring presenters are required to register separately and will not require a paid ticket to attend.

For those with family and friends that are not able to join in person, we will also be live streaming the ceremonies.

GUEST RING PRESENTERS

During the Ritual, the ring is placed on the finger of each candidate by an obligated engineer.  Candidates have the option to have their ring placed by a Camp XIII Warden in attendance, or invite your own eligible Guest Ring Presenter to attend the ceremony to place the ring on their finger.

The Guest Ring Presenter must be an obligated engineer with at least 5 years of qualifying engineering experience.  The intent of this requirement is to have engineers of some experience welcoming and encouraging you as a new engineer.

Please email ironring13@mcmaster.ca for a copy of the registration form for a Guest Ring Presenter.

Please note: If your proposed Guest Ring Presenter has not been Obligated (i.e. has not received their Iron Ring at a prior Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer), they cannot present an Iron Ring, or otherwise participate in, the Ceremony.  This requirement stands even if your proposed Presenter is a Professional Engineer, but has not been Obligated.  It is mandatory that a Presenter must be an Obligated Engineer - no exceptions.
