GUESTS - GENERAL ATTENDANCE

Camp XIII invites candidates to bring up to two guests to attend the ceremony in person (each candidate may register for a maximum of two guests, including a Guest Ring Presenter, should you want to invite a Guest Ring Presenter.)

For those with family and friends that are not able to join in person, we will also be live streaming the ceremonies.

GUEST RING PRESENTERS

During the ceremony, the ring is placed on the finger of each candidate by an obligated engineer.  Candidates have the option to have their ring placed by a Camp XIII Warden in attendance, or invite your own eligible Guest Ring Presenter to attend the ceremony to place the ring on their finger.

The Guest Ring Presenter must be an obligated engineer with at least 5 years of qualifying engineering experience.  The intent of this requirement is to have engineers of some experience welcoming and encouraging you as a new engineer.

If your proposed Guest Ring Presenter has not been Obligated (i.e. has not received their Iron Ring at a prior Calling of an Engineer ceremony), they cannot present an Iron Ring, or otherwise participate in the Ceremony.  This requirement stands even if your proposed Presenter is a Professional Engineer. It is mandatory that a Presenter be an Obligated Engineer - no exceptions.

The Guest Ring Presenter form must be completed by March 6, 2026 in order for the Presenter to be permitted to participate in the ceremony.  Please ironring13@mcmaster.ca to request a copy of Guest Ring Presenter registration form.

Note if you do not have a Guest Presenter, Camp Wardens will also be in attendance at the ceremony to present rings to candidates.  Candidates may also ask an Obligated Faculty member to present their ring.  Candidates are responsible for directly requesting a Faculty member to present, no later than March 6th.
